Position Description:
The Manager Associate Communications will be responsible for managing the editorial content and strategically driving corporate messages through appropriate print and electronic media to reach targeted internal audiences. Responsible for building cross-functional relationships with Associate Communications peers including, creative, broadcast, and communications planning in order to evaluate existing vehicles and develop new vehicles to proactively drive corporate messages.

  • 60% Manage communications content and program for specific functional areas, which may include, but not limited to: CEO communications; internal corporate communications; HR communications; Employee Branding communications; Merchandising communications; Supply Chain Communications; project management of translations. 
  • 10% Develop sustained metrics to assess ongoing effectiveness of vehicles 
  • 10% Evaluate and assess existing communication vehicles at corporate; identify and explore new and state of the art methods to determine most effective and efficient methods to deliver and reinforce strategic messages at all levels of the Company. 
  • 10% Work with the Associate Communications peers and other cross functional partners to determine editorial calendar by audience, date and media, as well as to determine the appropriate communication vehicles 
  • 10% Drive corporate messaging to targeted internal audiences through appropriate vehicles
  • Typically reports to Director of Associate Communications 
  • Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 7 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Additional Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Journalism, PR, Communications or English is preferred. 
  • Track record of driving the communication process from concept to delivery 
  • Bi-lingual with the ability to project management the translations team
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
  • Extensive experience managing graphic design, print production, distribution and fulfillment 
  • Solid experience writing and editing corporate communications, new journals, marketing materials and/or public relations collateral 
  • Experience creating detailed specifications, process mapping, information architecture, ability to estimate budgets and write scope documents 
  • Has demonstrated ability to work independently and lead teams to complete projects and major initiatives 
  • Familiarity with AP style and Chicago Manual style of knowledge of communication strategy and planning 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
