Job Description
The Independence Policy and Consulting Group provides advice and guidance to the US Firm and the global independence network on all areas of the US independence policy and the regulatory environment that shapes its content. Also, the Independence Policy and Consulting Group provides professional solutions and evaluates new client opportunities through consultation, training and independence policy development. The Client Acceptance team is the largest team within the Independence Policy and Consulting Group. This team is responsible for assisting the partners and engagement teams of PwC with completing independence assessments for all new and prospective attest clients. The independence assessment process is designed to identify in a timely manner services, relationships and fee structures that could be potential independence issues and allows PwC to take corrective action. By assisting with these assessments, the Client Acceptance team helps to mitigate risk to PwC and maintain PwC's independence as it relates to new attest clients of the firm.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 4 Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree Knowledge Preferred: Demonstrates extensive knowledge of and/or proven record of success in a rules and/or research-based environment, preferably within a global network of professional services firms, including in the following areas:
- AICPA, SEC, IFAC and GAO Independence rules; and,
- Corporate structures of varying complexities, including private equity structures and investment companies. Skills Preferred: Demonstrated extensive level of abilities and/or proven record of success leading a team of professionals in working with engagement teams to perform independence assessments across the globe; preferably within a global network of professional services firms, including in the following areas:
- Managing daily communication with engagement teams in the Assurance practice;
- Analyzing situations requiring Independence assessments for potential new audit clients, carve-outs and mergers and acquisitions;
- Leading the review of information provided by the engagement teams to assess and identify services, relationships and fee structures globally that could impair the organization's independence;
- Conducting research on difficult technical topics and consulting with professionals throughout a global organization regarding the application of independence regulations set out by the SEC, AICPA, IFAC and internal policies;
- Working collaboratively with other leaders on consultations or projects involving cross or multiple lines of service;
- Demonstrating proactively strategic thought leadership;
- Developing training material specific to client acceptance business issues;
- Writing, communicating, facilitating, and presenting cogently and with cultural dexterity; to and/or for all levels of internal staff and management;
- Leveraging oral and written communication skills to team with individuals across a matrix organization and deliver difficult messages; and,
- Participating on special projects, as needed.
