The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, the site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.

 

Responsibilities

  • The Hospitalist-Internal Medicine, or Family Practice position provides general medical care for hospitalized patients
  • Serves as the physician-of-record after accepting case responsibility for a hospitalized patient from his/her primary care physician, as well as for unassigned patients from the hospital, patients referred to the hospital from communities outside the area, and patients from physicians in the community who can no longer make hospital rounds on their patients

Education

  • The position requires a Medical Doctorate degree (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine

Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • Three (3) years related hospital experience which can be obtained during a residency program

Skills

  • Must have demonstrated ability with all of the following, which may have been gained concurrently: (1) performing minor surgical procedures, including paracentesis, central line placements and arterial line placements; (2) ventilator management; (3) endotracheal intubation procedures; and (4) peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) line insertion

Licensure/Certifications

  • Must have current, unrestricted Minnesota State Medical Licensure
  • Must be board certified or be eligible for board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • MN License required
  • ACLS
  • BLS

Work Schedule

7 days on 7 days off. Days (7-4, 8-5 rotating) and Evenings 3-11

Education is a priority among the residents who take pride inthe excellent schools and community college in Cambridge.
