Job Description
The Assurance Support group is comprised of those functions in the Firm that support audit engagement teams and audit quality efforts.

It includes:

- National Professional Services
- ASM and T, inclusive of Chief Auditor Network, Learning and Development, Aura and ATP, Risk Management, SEC Services, and Accounting Services Group;
- Audit Transformation Program, including Aura and GADM;
- Inspections; and,
- Regulatory Relations and Quality Control.

Operating under centralized leadership, these groups work collaboratively to provide timely and consistent support to engagement teams on accounting and auditing matters, helping to enhance the Firm's ability to meet greater investor expectations with the challenges of an increasingly complex business environment, and our objective of achieving sustained audit quality over the long term.

Innovation Solutions develops complex software capabilities leveraging the latest in technology to meet today's hard business problems. Through research, development and integration, we build adaptable enterprise capabilities, built on top of leading open source tooling, to provide a highly customizable platform for across the Assurance practice.

Data Analytics Transformation focuses on services related to data auditing, business analyzation and leveraging of analytical technologies to evaluate complex Enterprise Systems, such as SAP, EBS, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards, for audit and non-audit services.

The team provides a range of solutions including:
- Design and build automated tests to automate and support the delivery of audit and non-audit services;-
- Evaluate ERP data models, data flows and system functionality;
- Document functional and technical specifications;
- Coding of the automated test scripts;
- Generate output per business requirements, such as tailored Excel reporting or visualizations; and,
- Development of an analytic application, web portal and

underlying infrastructure to enable the delivery of the automated tests, including ETL, analytics engine, reporting engine and end-user portals.

Data Science is a field where practitioners help build analytical content to support PwC assurance professionals discover and explain risk to their clients. Various analytical products are utilized to code and implement multiple factor predicted outcomes into key risk measures, identify unusual activity through machine learning, or extend sample-based testing to massive enterprise-wide data stores. Real-world questions and real-world data present unexpected challenges and at PwC you will learn how to apply theory to practice working with our close-knit team.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 3 of relevant work experience.


Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Accounting, Finance/Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics Mathematics, Regulatory Compliance, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and/or another business field of study.


Degree Preferred: Master's degree or Doctorate double major, or a major and minor combining a technical focus such as Engineering/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science with a professional serves oriented focus such as Business/Economics.


Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success in data analytics, preferably for a global network of professional services firms, in the following areas:

- Planning with other data scientists on the most effective analytical approach based upon requirements taking into consideration performance and scalability to large datasets;

- Understanding of relational database theory, principles, and industry leading practices;

- Tuning complex queries, procedure, and indexing strategies;

- Demonstrating familiarity with ETL processes and concepts;

- Demonstrating knowledge in an applied subject matters such as finance, accounting, energy, or health care

- Engineering custom analytical approaches to unique or challenging questions when standard approaches fall short;

- Leveraging development using languages such as Python, JavaScript framework or equivalent, and applying analytical methods to large datasets while leveraging one of those languages and,

- Understanding agile development methodologies such as Scrum.


Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the application of statistical or numerical methods, data munging or data-driven problem solving, preferably for a global network of professional services firms, with emphasis on the following areas:

- Hands-on experience in database programming in (SQL Server, MemSQL, Oracle) and data modeling;

- Solutions development through SQL development, data analytics and programming/scripting utilizing Python, JavaScript, Python, Node.js;
- Modern web application development [e.g. AngularJS, NodeJS, Python, CSS3, Boostrap,d3] is plus; and,

- Source control using one of Git, Subversion, and TFS.
