Youll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure within PwC, developing and enhancing both client and internal facing applications within PwC, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for the Firm to drive strategic business growth.Our Policy, Strategy, and Leadership - Practice Support team provides strategic oversight, manages operations, and develops policies for all aspects of PwCs Information Technology team.


Responsibilities

As a Director, youll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively lead the practise by setting strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines
  • Building strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalise on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors
  • Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities
  • Responsibility for a majority of day to day client communications
  • Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria
  • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
  • Responsibility for management of engagement financials
  • Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching

Job Requirements and Preferences: 

Basic Qualifications: 

Minimum Degree Required: 
High School Diploma

Minimum Years of Experience: 
8 year(s) of progressive roles leading IT transformation that include operations, policy, and business strategy.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills: 

Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in strategic IT including the following areas:

  • Demonstrating application/Automation development methodologies and technologies;
  • Demonstrating strategic management and delivery methodologies to drive an agile delivery culture to organize, plan and carry out complex assignments;
  • Demonstrating operational excellence in support of automation solutions, visualization services, data integrations;
  • Demonstrating application delivery strategy that incorporates both delivery and Automation support, with a focus on prioritized functionality and user experience; and,
  • Demonstrating business skills (i.e. financial, resource, vendor, issue management, etc) to solve critical and strategic business technology issues.

Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in strategic IT including the following areas:

  • Leading an IT organization in a hands-on leadership role, accountable for tactical, financial, and strategic outcomes of the organization based on delivery and operational needs;
  • Coaching and developing the Automation Service Management Hub team, including staff selection, engagement, development, retention, and performance;
  • Engaging with and/or leading high performing, agile delivery teams within a rapidly changing environment with employees, contractors and sourced resources;
  • Working with Domain Leads, Delivery Managers and Solution Architects to understand the various priorities and roadmaps in order to staff Cross Functional Team members on projects that are delivering the highest and most strategic value;
  • Working with and providing support and assistance to the IFS Domain Leader;
  • Identifying and taking ownership of IFS organizational functions and tasks where gaps and/or needs are identified;
  • Assuming functions and tasks as requested proactively;
  • Engaging with IT Leadership via support and ownership of functions and tasks when requested;
  • Leading staff in the delivery of projects and initiatives;
  • Participating in IT strategy and planning activities, bringing current knowledge and future vision of technology, processes, and industry leading practices as related to business requirements and industry trends;
  • Driving organizational initiatives for Cross Functional technology integration - setting and adjusting priorities;
  • Removing barriers and acting with an appropriate sense of urgency;
  • Collaborating with others to discover creative solutions to complex problems, which may require unique approaches, while maintaining standards and minimizing any risk to the firm;
  • Establishing application delivery efforts are focused on the user with continual focus on improving the experience of the application user;
  • Maintaining effective relationships and channels of communication with business sponsors and IT leadership including collaborating with senior level staff/partners in other departments and across IT domains; and,
  • Fostering working relationships in order to establish and promote a healthy cross organizational working model that includes the sharing of roadmaps, understanding and highlighting project work and initiatives across organizations, partnering to identify and address gaps and missing functionality while honing a working model that will result in the optimal consumption of services.
